Way to Kapan Monastery (Fhulari Gumba)
There are forming a number of monasteries around Kathmandu Valley. Among this Kapan Monastery is also the one which is being popular nowadays within the people staying inside valley for a day hike or a day tour both.
Kapan Monastery is located at the Kapan inside the jungle. You can reach there with your personal vehicle or as the steps mentioned below.
The location shown up after half an hour of walk from the gokarna temple or gokarna bus stop. So, you can take taxi or any local bus upto gokarna temple and have short hike upto monastery. You can find bus from any station of chakrapath (Swayambu, Balaju, New Buspark). If you are not able to find direct bus to Gokarna then you can take bus upto Baudha or Jorpati and then another bus towards Gokarna Temple.
After reaching Gokarna Temple you will find board of Sahayogi School on the left side.
Take that way up to the small gate and follow the black pitch road until you reach the junction of five roads where you can find the Sahid Smarak Park.
From that place you have to take the upward road opposite to the park gate. Follow along the road until you reach the monastery. If you are confused with the roads then you can ask people around there.
You can see the gate mentioning the opening time of the monastery but may be closed when there are number of people for meditation. Entrance is free for everyone visiting there. You have to have for some minutes to reach the monastery. The area is peaceful and people are pleased to keep silence on that area too.
